Delivering resilience training to pre-registration student nurses in partnership with a reservist military organisation: A qualitative study

Nurses need resilience to safeguard their well-being. In collaboration with a military reservist organisation the Team Series was designed foster by promoting teamwork and leadership skills in student nurses. To explore participants' experiences of engaging knowledge acquired. A qualitative design. Scottish University. Fourteen 3rd year pre-registration nursing students, ten academic staff reservists. Audio-taped focus groups interviews thematically analysed. Students conceptualised as clinical competence, valuing an active learning process enabling them practice interpersonal skills, utilising range communication, team-building, problem-solving skills. Participation fostered self-awareness self-confidence, foundations resilience, helping students feel more competent coping effectively stressful situations. The positive impact collaborating experienced developing team-working is demonstrated. Learning promote physical emotional should be threaded throughout curricula ensure these attributes are developed sustained over time.
